Mochitsuki

Our first event of the year couldn’t have been better. Perfect sunny weather allowed us to get out into our garden pound some rice!

Luck was once again on our side for timing and we were once again able to make some very delicious mochi. Did everyone get to eat enough?!？

This year we are planning to do the rice planting and harvesting experience. We believe experiencing the hardships and effort of producers is an important part of education. The rice that we used to make mochi today as well came from the effort and hard work of a farmer. Please remember to speak with your children about how it is all thanks to those hard-working farmers that we were able to produce and consume the delicious mochi we made today.
